A short post today as I am tired.

The following poem by Nancy Wood is one I read last night and was deeply impressed by. For me it is Lady Wisdom's song sung since the beginning of time by the One who was with God since creation began. The old man for me is God. This could also be a wonderful love letter from one spouse or partner to another.

From the deep blanket of Winter, I am.
From the fertile seeds of Spring, I am.
From the unfolding leaves of Summer, I am.
From the ripening fruits of Autumn, I am.

If Winter's song is one of sleep, sing it.
If Spring's song is one of anticipation, sing it.
If Summer's song is one of fullness, sing it.
If Autumn's song is one of change, sing it.

What you are, I am.
What I am, you will be.
Where Summer goes, I follow.
Where Winter goes, we walk together.

The longing of this old woman
is satisfied by the loving of that old man.

Since I am mostly reduced to taking my walks around the parking area where we live I have not taken many photos since the surgery. However the clouds on a most perfect day were a joy to behold so I took the camera and tried to capture what I saw.

I have only numbered them and I would like to ask you to spend some time and as children do look and see images of animals. people, etc. , whatever your creative eye perceives. God painted these clouds for our enjoyment so perhaps a few moments of stopping and really looking could be a prayer of appreciation to the Artist for a job well done.

If you care to let me know what you saw. My email is on the top of the notice announcing this post.

Progress post surgery is slow and will take 4-6 months to return to a more normal life. I am blessed with Lee, my remarkable wife who has gone so many extra miles to care for me - for so many good friends who come to visit and feed me with their energy and enthusiasm for life - a remarkable church community who not offer not only prayers but food and company as well. I have been offered a second chance at life by God and I have no intention of wasting it by just passing time day to day. Life is eternally interesting and I want more of it.

Just before the surgery we went to Campobello Island in New Brunswick for the weekend and the photos on this post were taken there. As often as I have been there one might think that everything has been covered by the camera - not so - we can always find something new in what seems familiar. An eye to see and the eye of the heart will always surprise as long as we have the patience to be present to what is in front of us. This is the Grace of sight.

This morning I received strength for this day and for future days with this passage from Exekiel 36: with an adaptation of verses 6 and 7 :

"I shall give you a new heart,
and put a new spirit in you -
I shall put my spirit in you."
