Progress post surgery is slow and will take 4-6 months to return to a more normal life. I am blessed with Lee, my remarkable wife who has gone so many extra miles to care for me - for so many good friends who come to visit and feed me with their energy and enthusiasm for life - a remarkable church community who not offer not only prayers but food and company as well. I have been offered a second chance at life by God and I have no intention of wasting it by just passing time day to day. Life is eternally interesting and I want more of it.

Just before the surgery we went to Campobello Island in New Brunswick for the weekend and the photos on this post were taken there. As often as I have been there one might think that everything has been covered by the camera - not so - we can always find something new in what seems familiar. An eye to see and the eye of the heart will always surprise as long as we have the patience to be present to what is in front of us. This is the Grace of sight.

This morning I received strength for this day and for future days with this passage from Exekiel 36: with an adaptation of verses 6 and 7 :

"I shall give you a new heart,
and put a new spirit in you -
I shall put my spirit in you."

Some humor:  Who ever said cows didn't have a brain?

    Peace until next post,
