All the images below originate in the camera and enhancements are accomplished in software which these days can offer painting and watercolor effects really well.

Last week we spent two days in Boothbay Harbor, Maine, and went from wonderful shorelines to the tulip displays at the botanical gardens there. Flowers are first followed by sunset and a few pictures of interest to me. Creativity always seems to be at the frontline of my ventures into photography these days, and I would like to offer a few quotes that had meaning for me this past week that match my efforts to express what is coming from interior spaces, and not just from technical expertise, which can be a trap to be only as perfect as possible while abandoning what our creative nature is demanding of us.

"We get a lot further creatively by staying put and doing something small and do-able daily in the life we already have."

                                                                                               Julia Cameron

    - Creativity, in truth, means little more than the faculty of perceiving in a
un-habitual way.
                                                                                                Unknown

"A painting is never finished - it simply stops in interesting places."

                                                                                                Paul Gardener

"One does not discover new lands without consenting to lose sight of the shore for a very long time."

                                                                                                Andre Gide

Observing life with a clear eyes helps to make us 'flower fresh.

-----------------------------------------------------

The setting sun has its own charm,
looking with the eyes of remembered childhood
this late illumination has magical qualities
that do not appear at any other time.

A lone gull searches for a spot to roost and sleep -
I wonder if sleep is the goal, or if the rising moon
brings a new attention to the next part of the day.
The birds know what I do not.

Days end brings peace and a deep sense of belonging to nature .....
a time to let go of explanations for what we see,
a time for simply being quiet and allowing
God to do the talking.
Beauty has its own language,
a silent moment here, and here..... and here.

.... as we sail into the mystic,
safe harbor is never far from any direction we travel.

The wind always tells us where it blows from,
to or from home .....
does it really matter?

Storms never last forever.
Good sailing is ever waiting to carry us
across the never ending expanse
of the Ocean that is God.
