Last Saturday we went to Acadia and walked out on Eagle Lake which still had six inches of ice. Not much for my taste but a fisherman who had fifty years experience assured us it was safe for a few more days as long as the temperature didn't rise and stay above forty degrees for long. I found myself still uneasy but Lee walked straight out to the lake's center as I stood no more that 100 feet off the shore talking with one of the ice fishermen. So, Winter is not over yet and with days like this in our National Park I have no complaint to speak of. I don't believe we saw more than a handful of people wherever we went which says something about cabin fever where even Mainers stay at home waiting for Spring's eventual arrival.
Photos 4-8 are of the excursion to the ice fields of Acadia.
The first three pictures are something of an excursion into a more artistic approach to images on my part. I enjoy working with some photos to create something different. Let me know what you think.
Finding direction, not a task for the faint hearted -
We can easily take the road that looks like the right one
only to find we need to backtrack and take the other fork.
This is the way of life and the finding of our way.
The Favorite Fence
The statue emerges from the painting
when it is time to convey a deeper meaning
to the onlooking world.
Those alert will see,
and understand the message.
(Mudras, hand gestures in some cultures in the Indian Continent have great meaning. The hand gesture above indicates a sign of knowledge, peace and meditation - even though the woman is Western the artist knew something of the ability of hands to convey understanding.)

A most interesting ice fishing house on Eagle Lake.
People who live in glass ice houses
just better watch out!

I'm going to marry a man with blankets,
a space heater and a warm fluffy dog!"

A pleasant diversion, somewhat humorous:
Listen to the cats music here - allow 6-7 seconds before the song starts -
Peace until next week,
