This will be my last post for the next 4-6 weeks as I will be recovering from aorta replacement surgery. Please place me in your prayers for a good outcome even though all signs point in that direction. Surgery is July 6th. Many thanks.

This post has images from our visit to Campobello Island in New Brunswick, a favorite place for Lee and myself. The Island, just across the bridge from Lubec Maine is an undiscovered gem where crowds never occupy the space that we enjoy and always have there. Many times we found ourselves totally alone on Herring Cove beach, Liberty Point on the islands southern tip, as we watch each clear night the sunset from the lighthouse across the inlet from Lubec, and on the porch of the guesthouse at the Roosevelt Compound after it is closed for the day. There are not too many places where this kind of peace can be found here on the east coast of the continent.

We have seen the stars from Herring Cove with no light pollution to block the view of the Milky Way stretching from horizon to horizon with an intensity that can only be called wondrous.

If you live in a city or in a crowded suburb I do not feel bad telling you of such a wonderful place because it is available to you as well. All that is needed is your passport as the Canadian border has to be crossed going, and U.S. customs on the way back. Campobello offers a chance to explore one's inner sights in those places usually unavailable due to life's distractions.

First two postcards and then a series of impressions of Spring and its wonders.

All places of serenity offer a return to 'Home' the place of peace in our core. Here is a short piece of music and dialog expressing just that, a returning Home.

There is a small harbor on Campobello, a refuge from the open ocean a short distance away. The gull is the watch bird for this day, making sure all is in good order.

Lubec, Maine, seen from the lighthouse while waiting on the sun to set.

As the Dandelion sheds its most yellow petals,
a wondrous event takes place,
a ball of seeds are revealed, and looking closely
its inner beauty is shown to us.

A giant grass eating monster ...
indigenous to the island, and nowhere else.

Several miles of dirt roads crisscross the preserve that takes most of the southern third of the island. These tree lined roads have a particular beauty for me when late in the day the sun pokes its way into the scene.
